How sleep effects our health

Sleep is vital to our personal health and wellbeing. When we sleep our bodies get the opportunity to recover, allowing our muscles to grow and repair.  Sleep also gives our brains time to recover, allowing us to consolidate memories, remove toxins and refresh our mind. It isn’t just about how much sleep we get, the type of sleep we have is important too. Have you ever woke up in a mood, anxious or angry and don’t know why? Sometimes this can be because we haven’t had enough ‘deep’ sleep (we may have been waking up throughout the night). This can then have a big impact on how our day goes. The same can be said if we have a good nights sleep, we wake up feeling refreshed in a good mood and ready to face the day.
